Nigerian soldier who lost one leg in Boko Haram battle, calls out Army Authorities, asking for proper treatment (Photos)

A Nigerian soldier, Daniel Ndubuka Ekpo, who lost one of his legs while fighting the Boko Haram terrorists in the North East has taken to Facebook to call out the Army Authorities, asking for proper treatment.
According to him, he lost of one his legs after his armored tank ran into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during an operation
He says the Nigerian Army has not given him a proper treatment after the incident, and he's really suffering at the hospital where he's being admitted.

'I am a soldier among those that fight the menace of insurgency/Boko Haram at the North East,my Tank Ran into (IED) Improvised Explosive Device. in d process my two legs Was badly damaged and the left leg was amputated,I a still on hospital admission but Nigerian Army Has not given me a proper treatment and I am really suffering, please I want all the members to pray for the Army Authorities who are responsible for my treatment So that I will properly treated.'

Former Manchester United midfielder, Liam Miller has died at the age of 36 from cancer!

Late Miller, who won 21 caps for the Republic of Ireland between 2004 and 2009, had been suffering from cancer.  Miller started his career at Celtic in 2000 before moving to Old Trafford four years later, also playing for Leeds, Sunderland, QPR and Hibernian.

Mourning him, Celtic said they were "deeply saddened", adding their "thoughts are with his family and friends". Miller ended his career in the United States in 2016, having also played for three clubs in Australia and his hometown club Cork City before retiring.

Nigerians react after "strange snake" spiritually swallows N36 million cash in JAMB office...lol

According to reports, a mystery snake is said to have sneaked into the accounts office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital and made away with N36 million cash.

A team of auditors was dispatched to different state offices of JAMB to take inventory of the sold and unsold scratch cards and recover whatever money that might have either been generated or mismanaged during the period of the sale of scratch cards. On their visit to Makurdi office of JAMB, a sales clerk, Philomina Chieshe, told JAMB registrar and his team that she could not account for N36 million she made in previous years before the abolition of scratch cards.

In the course of interrogation, Philomena confessed that it was her housemaid that connived with another JAMB staff, Joan Asen, to “spiritually” steal the money from the vault in the accounts office.
She said: “I was one of the four sales clerks attached to JAMB office in Makurdi. My responsibility was to sell scratch cards to candidates and not involved in handling the revenues. It was the responsibility of Joan Asen and my other senior colleagues. I only remit money when am done selling the cards

Philomina in her confessional statement said that Joan Asen and her accomplices confessed that they have been stealing the money “spiritually” through a mysterious snake that always sneak into the office to swallow the money from the vault.

According to her “It was a mystery to me too. I have been saving the money in the bank, but I found it difficult to account for it. So I started saving it in a vault in the office. But each time I open the vault, I will find nothing. I became worried and surprised how the millions of Naira could be disappearing from the vault. I began to interrogate everybody in the house and office, and no one could agree on what might have happened to the money. I continued to press until my housemaid confessed. She said that the money disappeared “spiritually”. She said that a “mysterious snake” sneaked into the house and swallowed the money in the vault.

Four police officers missing after suspected herdsmen ambush police team in Benue

The Benue state police command have declared four of its officers missing after suspected herdsmen ambushed a police mobile force patrol team in Ayilamo in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. The suspected herdsmen during the attack, set one of the patrol vehicles ablaze. Confirming the attack, the state Commissioner of police, Fatai Owoseni, said a search is on for the missing officials.

"I am not afraid of arraignment before the court" - Innoson reacts following the issuance of his arrest warrant

Chairman of Innoson Group, Chief Dr innocent Chukwuma popularly known as Innoson has stated that as a law abiding citizen, he's not afraid of arraignment in the court but he must be arraigned through the due process of law.

Innoson stated this today tthrough Cornel Osigwe, the Head of Corporate Communications
for Innoson Group while receiving the news of issuance of bench warrant against him today by State High Court Ikeja.

In a ruling by Justice Mojisola Dada, the court ordered that Innoson should be arrested and kept in custody a day before the next adjournment and be produced on the adjourned date, March 14, 2018 for probable arraignment over alleged forgery.

In a related development, the spokesperson of Innoson Group, Cornel Osigwe reacting to the issuance of bench warrant against Innoson stated that the decision of Justice Mojisola Dada was done in bad faith because the judge did not grant the counsel to Innoson, Prof J.N Mbadugha Esg a fair hearing.

During the court proceedings of today Prof Mbadugha invited the attention of the court to the motions pending in the matter, viz:
• that the charge is an abuse of process because a similar charge on the same subject matter is pending at the federal high court Lagos division between the same parties in charge no FHC/l/565c/2015;
• a motion pending at the court of appeal to stay commencement of proceedings and execution of the court’s order of 17th January 2018;
• a motion that the court recuse or disqualify itself from further conduct of the proceedings; and a motion that EFCC cannot be heard in any application until it withdraws the charge given a pending motion against it praying that it be restrained from filing any charge in respect of the same subject matter of the charge that was struck out until the determination of the appeal against the court’s order striking out the previous charge- Charge No. ID/197c/2013.
Prof Mbadugha also informed the court that the 3rd defendant has not been served and as such the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter.
All the submissions of Prof Mbadugha to the judge were not granted, however the judge granted the plea of the counsel to EFCC who prayed the court to issue a bench warrant against Innoson. The issuance of bench warrant led to a wild jubilation by some staff of GTB and their lawyers who were fully seated in the court.
It must be stated that based on the submission of Prof Mbadugha, counsel to Innoson, the judge erred in law by making an order to issue a bench warrant against Innoson.
The court is bound by law to listen and decide the applications submitted rather than making an order to arraign Innoson in a charge that is an abuse of process.
Osigwe have previously maintained that the EFCC charge which is being instigated by GTB is a gross abuse of process. First, an earlier charge which GTB induced the EFCC to file against Innoson was struck out. Innoson appealed against the order striking the charge out on the ground that it ought to be a dismissal and not striking out. The appeal, with Appeal No: CA/L/1328CM/2017 is, till date, still pending when EFCC filed or re-filed, in December 2017, the same charge that was struck out. Secondly, the charge is on the same subject matter and the same party as Charge No: FHC/L/565C/2015 that is pending at the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, in Appeal No: CA/E/249C/2016.
Both charges are smear campaign by GTB and EFCC to destroy Innoson.

South African pastor who sprayed his followers with the insecticide has been found guilty of assault

South African self-styled prophet who sprayed his followers with insecticide has been found guilty of assault.

According to local media report, Pastor Lethebo Rabalago who is widely known as the Doom Pastor was also found guilty of contravening the Agricultural Stock Remedies Act, a court ruling said.

Rabalago claims the insect repellent he used in 2016 could heal cancer and HIV.  A sentence is yet to be handed down after the verdict by Mookgopong Magistrates Court in Limpopo province.

On Friday, magistrate Frans Mahodi told the court the state had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that the five people who laid assault charges were violated, South Africa's national broadcaster SABC reports.

The magistrate said the fact that the complainants "were sprayed on their faces with Doom makes this offence [the] worst of its kind".  He also revealed some of them had suffered "detrimental side effects... like coughing for more than seven months" after the incident.  Rabalago - who run the Mount Zion General Assembly was arrested after it emerged he had used the product to "cure" his followers of various ailments in 2016.

The opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Olympics kicked off today in PyeongChang, South Korea, with several countries participating in the Winter Games.
  Nigerian team, Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga, Seun Adigun and Simi Adeagbo, who will represent the country in Bobsled and Skeleton respectively made a grand entry into the ceremony.
They donned a green white green dress, black high boots which they paired with green gele.

Vivid Imagination, one of Nigeria’s oldest fashion brands, lost millions of naira on Friday following an early morning fire that engulfed its main store and factory located at Falemi House, Obanikoro, Lagos.

According to reports, the fire which must have been caused by a power surge, started at about 2am, and raged for hours before it was put out by men of the Lagos State Fire Service assisted by some well-wishers. By the time the dust had settled, the store, which is home to the company and client’s fabrics, clients’ ready-to-be-delivered outfits, ready-made clothes, shoes, accessories and documents, was completely razed and virtually all the machines were burnt.

Dele Momodu who shared photos from the scene wrote, 'Fire guts one of Nigeria's biggest fashion factories VIVID IMAGINATION in Lagos, my designers of 27 years'.

An official statement from the Management, signed by the Managing Director, Godwin Mekwuye, said: “We wish to announce that early this morning there was afire incident at our company that vastly affected our store and factory. The damage done by this incident was phenomenal because it affected over thirty years of the brand’s history and memories as well as hundreds of millions naira worth of goods and equipment. This is a very difficult time for us as we begin to investigate the cause or causes of this disaster, but we assure our clients’ that the process of revival will begin immediately and we would ensure that this setback will not affect our time-tested efficiency and qualitative service delivery.”
