Weekend Ready! Tame Tough Hair With This Easy & Simple Stress-Free 4C Natural Hairstyle
One of the main struggles when it comes to 4C hair is getting to do
what the hell you want it to. It can be difficult to comb through,
detangle and style. Lord knows we don’t choose our hair, we just have to
make do. But thankfully we have some help.
Sisi Ope has been a naturalista for a few years now. And and if her
makeup looks are anything to go by, she knows a thing or 2 about beauty.
So, when she uploaded this video on how to create a high puff with 4C
hair we knew our 4C readers would love it!
Let’s get this party started shall we? Here’s what you’ll need.
- A detangling brush
- A water, leave-in conditioner & oil moisture in a spray bottle
- An elastic string or loose hair band to hold the hair. Sisi Ope
shares a great tip here. If you don’t have a string, cut an old
pantyhose into tiny strips and tie the ends. Using an elastic one is
great because it won’t snag on your edges.
How
- Start off by spraying your hair with the water, leave-in and oil
mixture. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that dry 4C hair is
ruthless.
- Brush though and detangle the hair thoroughly. Now, you might hear
some very violent sounds as you do this, but don’t worry. If you
dampened the hair right, it’s all bark and no bite.
- Take the elastic string and tie around the nape of your neck
starting from the back. Make sure all your hair strands are inside the
string circle. Hold the single knot in front of your head with one hand.
Take your other hand and start to roll the band upwards while you
continue to fasten the knot. Make sure you keep your hand on the knot
and roll upwards in short motions.
- When your hair gets as high ans you want it, stop. Fasten the ends
of the sting to the back and tuck away flyaways if any. To adjust the
puff, you can pull or brush your strands upwards and outwards for
length.
