Nigerian footballer Chinedu Obasi joins Bolton Wanderers
Former Super Eagles striker, Chinedu Obasi, 31, has joined English Championship club Bolton Wanderers on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The club announced the signing of Obasi on their Twitter page on Saturday.
'Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Chinedu Obasi on a short-term deal until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.'

The Enugu born footballer, who started his professional career with Norwegian club Lyn Oslo in 2005, also played for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Schalke 04, AIK and Shenzhen.
Obasi who made over 15 appearances for the Nigerian National team, was part of Nigeria’s U-20 and U-23 teams that finished second at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands in 2005 and at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Game

Five suspected oil thieves met their death after an explosion following their attempts to vandalise a pipeline in Bayelsa State.

The incident reportedly occurred at a gas pipeline belonging to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company linking Azagbene and other communities. Two of the vandals were roasted to death while three others were burnt beyond recognition.

The suspects were said to have attempted to destroy the pipeline using dynamites when nemesis caught up with them.

19-year-old James Eric Davis Jr. shot and killed his parents, James Davis Sr. and Diva Davis inside his dorm room at Central Michigan University on Friday morning March 2nd.

According to reports, a friend of Eric said he was arguing with his parents over money and his tuition fee.

The friend wrote,
“Eric’s parents wanted to stop paying his tuition so that they could save for retirement. Eric was upset that they asked him to take out a student loan.”
Another friend, Deantre DeYoung told the Chicago Tribune:
“He was a good kid, always… You would never expect something like this to come from James.”

Eric Davis Sr., a National Guard veteran who toured in Iraq, worked as a police officer in Bellwood, Illinois. His mother was a real estate broker.

Italy international star and Fiorentina captain, Davide Astori, 31, has died in his sleep ahead of their Serie A fixture against Udinese on Sunday.
According to Udine Today, the defender failed to wake up at the La di Moret hotel in the city on Sunday morning.

A statement issued by Fiorentina read: 'Fiorentina are profoundly shaken and forced to announce that their captain Davide Astori has died.
'For this terrible and delicate situation, and above all out of respect for his family, we appeal to the sensitivity of the media.'

Mail Online also reports that the club's match at the Stadio Friuli has been called off as a mark of respect, with the possibility of all entire Serie A programme to be postponed.
Udinese also confirmed that the fixture they were scheduled to play against Fiorentina on Sunday will not hold.
"Following the tragic news this morning that struck the ACF Fiorentina and the whole world of football, the match between Udinese and Fiorentina has postponed to date to be arranged," they confirmed.
The 31-year-old central defender, had been with the club since 2016 having previously played for Milan, Cagliari and Roma.
Footballers and fans around the world are already pouring out tributes to mourn the footballer.
