Nigerian footballer, Ahmed Musa who plays as a forward for Russian club CSKA Moscow, took to Instagram to heap praises on Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, as he paid him a visit at his club base.

Sharing photos with the German manager, who has been touring round to check on Nigerian players, ahead of the 2018 World cup tournament, he wrote:
'Words cannot express the gratitude I am feeling for what you did. I appreciate your generosity. What did I ever do to deserve you? You are amazing! A great teacher inspires and you have inspired me to excel in the game of football. I stumbled and failed but you taught me to never give up and keep on trying. I just want to say THANK..THANK FOR THE VISIT” ????

Neymar undergoes successful foot surgery

According to officials, the surgery on the broken right foot of Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar went successfully today.

The operation, performed by Brazilian national team surgeon Rodrigo Lasmar, began early on Saturday morning in the Mater Dei hospital in Belo Horizonte, and just after midday (1500 GMT), a spokesman from the Brazilian football federation announced that the operation was over “Neymar is already in his room. It went well,” he said.

Neymar broke his fifth metatarsa the bone leading to his small toe during a 3-0 drubbing of Marseille on February 25.  The striker whose transfer from Barcelona cost PSG a record 222 million euros ($264 million) last August has scored 28 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Neymar will miss  PSG’s make-or-break game against Real Madrid next Tuesday. But with Lasmar predicting a recovery period of two and a half to three months, Brazil is worried that Neymar may not be fit for the World Cup in Russia starting in June.

Staff at the hospital in Belo Horizonte, were put on paparazzi lock down, with a ban on using cellphones anywhere near the star.

3 cousins die in a fatal car crash after attending a birthday party in Edo State

Operatives from the Homicide Unit of the Edo State Police Command are battling hard to unravel how three boys who are first children of their respective parents died after attending a birthday party in Benin, Edo State.

The names of the dead cousins were given as Micheal Osula, Igie Edosomwan and Kelvin Idemudia. Already, there is confusion in the area over the mysterious and questionable manner of the deaths.

According to a report by NewTelegraph, the three brothers were said to have died on Sunday last week after the birthday ceremony held at Ogida quarters in Egor Local Government Area.  Sources close to them said after they were confirmed dead moments they were rushed to a nearby hospital after complaining of not feeling well. Mother of one the deceased, Mrs. Comfort Edosomwan, had wailed profusely over the Sussen’s demise of her son.

Edosomwan, who disclosed that her son was about to eat in the house when unidentified friend of his called him to join him to the birthday party, alleged money ritual in the ugly and dramatic incident. She also appealed to the police to thoroughly investigate the matter, adding that one of the suspects arrested in connection to the deaths had recently returned from Ghana. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, when contacted, said some suspects were being interrogated over the deaths

A fake Instagram account of Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido sent Paul Okoye a DM claiming to be the former CBN Governor and an excited paul replied and even sent him his number. The con man then called Paul asking him to help send 5 million naira to a friend as he was having issues with his online banking and this according to Paul was what gave him away.

FRSC to embark on ‘Operation Show Your Driving Licence’ in Lagos State

The Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Hyginus Omeje, has said the command would soon embark on ‘Operation Show Your Driving Licence.’

Omeje who disclosed this on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria urged the owners of the licences to collect them adding that the corps would embark on the mission across all units of the command.

“We are embarking on this assignment so that motorists will come to our office to collect their driving’ licences. “We have no backlog of new driving licences in Lagos State. There are 56,767 licences yet to be collected by their owners. We have sent SMS to their owners that their licences are ready for collection but they ignored responding to our messages,’’ the FRSC boss said.

Omeje frowned at the attitude of some road users driving without valid licences saying that such licences remained the only certification to drive on the road. According to him, the fine for driving without a valid licence is N10,000 and the offender must produce the licence within 24 hours.

Omeje said that if after 24 hours such offender could not produce a valid licence, the vehicle of such offender would be impounded. He said that in such situation, it would be assumed that the driver was not licensed to drive. Omeje said that the corps was not interested in the fines or depriving anyone the comfort of his vehicle, but advised motorists to do the right thing and be safety conscious.

A married Nigerian man who took his ''young girlfriend'' out on a movie date at Filmhouse got more than he bargained for after his wife showed up and created a scene.
According to an eye witness who spoke to LIB, the said wife trailed her husband and his alleged girlfriend to Filmhouse, Lekki, today, March 3rd 2018.  On getting there, she approached her husband's vehicle and told the girlfriend to wind down the window after which she gave her two heavy slaps, asking her to step out of the vehicle while shouting ''He is a married man''
